Recent Photo Shoot with Elwood, Voted “World’s Ugliest Dog in 2007″

The photograph above is of Elwood, who was voted “World’s Ugliest Dog,” in 2007. I recently photographed Elwood in New Jersey.
This image was captured with a Canon EOS-5D DSLR and a Canon EF 50mm/f2.5 Compact-Macro lens. The exposure was f/6.3 @ 1/800 and ISO 400.
Elwood and his “Mom” Karen Quigley have used his notoriety to help educate people about why being different can be a blessing, and the importance of adopting homeless animals from shelters and rescue groups. Elwood has raised thousands of dollars to support pet adoption, spay/neuter programs and assist in the fight against animal abuse.
Also, I just received this from Elwood’s “Mom” regarding the 2008 Ugliest Dog Competition:
Everyone’s favorite “CUTEST” Ugliest Dog ELWOOD has decided to enter the “2008 WORLD’S UGLIEST DOG CONTEST” to see if he can capture the crown again!
The competition is held in Petaluma, CA on Friday, June 20th. This tiny dog has a personality that just steals your heart. We know that’s why he became the CHAMP last year; because of his charming personality.
And, after all, Everyone Loves Elwood!

Welcome to the new CandidCanine.com!
Hi folks!
About 10 years ago I founded CandidCanine.com as a site to promote my people and pet photography services. There was a gallery of images on the site as well as information about my photography services. The new CandidCanine.com will continue to have a section about private and semi-private photo sessions, but the focus will be on news and tips related to pets and photography. Stay tuned for much, much more, and feel free to leave a message with comments about what you’d like to see on CandidCanine.com.
All the best,
Andrew
